Creatine is a tripeptide resulting from the union of three different amino acids: arginine, methionine and glycine, which our body is able to synthesize in the liver, but not always in sufficient quantity to cope with all the wear and tear and energy requirements of the most intense workouts.
Supplementation with creatine monohydrate improves energy performance and recovery from fatigue and physical stress because it is a precursor of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the main source of mitochondrial energy and responsible for strength and energy in the first 10-12″ of an anaerobic physical effort.
